How To Add A Link

The internet would not be nearly as great as it is without the ability to link to other sites, and within the first ten minutes of publishing, you too will want to know how to add a link to another site.

Vine Type uses Markdown entry for input. Markdown is an easy yet powerful text entry technology that relies on simple character codes to generate valid XHTML markup.

To create a link to the Vine Type home page, which of course you'll want to talk about in your first article, you'll need to associate the words "Vine Type" to the URL "http://vinetype.com" in this manner...

I've just launched my new website
using this great CMS called
[Vine Type](http://vinetype.com)

...to produce this paragraph...

I've just launched my new website using this great CMS called Vine Type

Place brackets [ and ] around the to-be-linked-text and follow the closing bracket ] with the URL inside parentheses ( and ).

Link Titles

Markdown allows you the ability to create a title for your link. Titles will mainifest themselves as "hover text" before users click the link. Hover over the link above and you will not see any hover text. However, if we entered the text this way...

...to produce what appears to be the same paragraph...
