Vine Type Content Management with Standards in Mind

13 Oct 2005

Step 3

Vine Type administration is done through your internet browser. To gain access to Administrative features, you must enter a password that you choose and place into the vinetype.config file.

Locate the vinetype.config file in your vinetype folder. Edit the file with Notepad or other text-based editor. Microsoft Word or other full-feature editors should not be used to edit the vinetype.config file. Locate the password entry in the file.

Next, type in a password after the colon (:) in the line leaving no space between the colon and your password.

I recommend a password that contains upper and lowercase letters, at least one number and at least one non-alphanumeric character such as # or % or *. The goal is to have a password that looks like a random series of letters numbers and characters -- which is significantly more secure than your pet's name.

Save the file and close Notepad.

Your Vine Type website in its default template is now fully installed with all capabilities and features at your fingertips from anywhere on the internet.

To log in and start administering your website, follow the logging in directions available in the content management section of this website.
