Syndication Feeds
Website syndication is an internet technology and browser enhancement that continues to grow. Although many folks refer to all syndication as RSS, RSS is only one of several syndication formats.
Turning Brochures into Magazines
Syndication turns "brochure" websites into "magazine" websites. Brochure sites are like display windows that visitors must visit in order to see what has changed. With syndication feeds, visitors can subscribe to your website -- and any new articles are "delivered" to folks who subscribe to your website.
When a website provides a syndication feed, website visitors can subscribe to your website. Then via the visitor's RSS aggregator (either a web browser enhancement or separate website) the website visitor is notified whenever your website changes. This keeps your visitors coming back and informed on all new and updated items. That is, if your site is syndication feed enabled.
